Personal Safety Education for Children with Different Abilities

Rural Response for Healthy Children recognizes that children with different abilities are often particularly vulnerable to abuse. The organization is working to change this reality in Huron County.

"No community has ever been built on the needs and problems of its people.
It has always been built on their gifts and capacities and the use of assets that are there."
~
McConnell Foundation, John McKnight

Goals of the Program

To reduce child abuse and neglect
To support community, provide skills and resources on personal safety education
To increase an understanding of the importance of starting prevention education at an early age
To keep our children safe

Personal safety education has programming for children and young adults with different abilities, parents and caregivers, professionals working with the families.
