Grandparents Raising Grandchildren
Delivered Virtually
Grandparents who are raising their grandchildren are welcome to join us for a facilitated, virtual discussion twice a month on Wednesday afternoons. Participation provides a connection to caregivers who are living a similar experience, opportunity to improve positive grandparenting skills and build caregiver-child attachment.
Active participants will receive a delivery of monthly snacks and all ingredients for a family meal. Funded by Government of Canada and private donations.
Caregiver Coffee Break
Delivered Virtually
Caregiver Coffee Break is a monthly, virtual drop (the third Tuesday of the month) for parents/caregivers raising children with disabilities, autism or mental health. It is a chance to chat and check in with other families to share successes, challenges and strategies. In collaboration with Huron Respite Network.
Sibz Club
Delivered Virtually
Sibz Club is a 4 week series for brothers and sisters, age 7 to 12, of children who have a developmental or physical disability, autism or a mental health concern. It is an opportunity to have fun together while receiving peer support, sharing their sibling relationship and exploring the gifts and challenges of being a sibling to a brother or sister with disabilities. We co-facilitate this group with Huron Respite Network. There is no charge for children participating.
Dads + Kids Night with the Museum
Delivered Virtually
Calling all Dads/male caregivers and kids! Join us on Zoom once a month for fun filled themed activities, parent discussions and social time facilitated by Rural Response for Healthy Children and The Huron County Museum. There will be a virtual tour of the goal, artifact and exhibit activities, parent/child social time and activities, healthy snacks and games. This is a great virtual event to spend together with your children!
Family Community Garden
Delivered in person, adhering to provincial guidelines
Join us at the new Goderich Community Garden on Balvina Drive. Parents/caregivers with young children will explore a rainbow of vegetables and fruits to support healthy eating habits. Meet us at the Garden on Thursdays from 10 am - 11 am, May 27 - September 30.
