Grandparents Raising Grandchildren

The number of grandparents who are raising their grandchildren is increasing. It is something no grandparent ever thinks is going to occur, yet life circumstances sometimes create the need for their love and care to go beyond fun visits with their grandchildren.

In Huron and Perth Counties, grandparents who are raising their grandchildren are supported by Rural Response for Healthy Children’s peer support group. The group meets twice a month to share stories, gain information about additional supports, learn new parenting information, and form a community.
